Jaskirt Dhaliwal has a drive and passion for documentary photography and communicating stories through visual art. Specialising in portraiture, such as her Award winning Women’s Football body of work, Jaskirt is fascinated about what drives individuals and groups of people to behave and live the way they do.
This intrigue in human nature is significant in how and why she chooses to explore ideas around identity. As well as an artist she is also a teacher and she believes that photography is a powerful tool to educate and inspire. This drives her to keep meeting new people and developing her practice in new directions.
She has shown her work at the Collectives Encounter as part of the International Format Festival 2011, Hereford Photography's Fringe Festival 2011, Wembley Stadium, Manchester's People Museum amongst other venues (click more below).
