"I worked in And'Art as part as the "Sculpture team". When I arrived to Tangier I had a different idea of what my work was going to be but everything changed after meeting the orphan children at the Dana centre, living day to day in the centre of Tangier, and listening to stories by the port.
I created a piece made of plaster and recycled materials titled "Puerto". I also worked hand to hand with the rest of the team, four amazing artists in the production a second piece for the Children of Tangier.
Back in London I am an Art Student at Central Saint Martins School of Art. I work on sculptural pieces made of Porcelain and Plaster.
And'Art opened a new chapter in my personal life and as a result in my art practice.
I was born in Colombia but I have not visited my country in the last nine years. There was something really special about Tangier that created in me an enormous nostalgia for the southern hemisphere. Visiting the orphanage, seeing the terrible injustice created by indifference, Casa Barata... They were big ingredients that nourished my points of view about the world we live in and how I need to express those points of view in my art practice.
And'Art also made me discover and love to work as part of a collective. Being part of this festival was one of the most beautiful experiences of my career so far. I made amazing friends, shared extremely valuable experiences and learned about a country and a city that are now part of my heart."
