Football Landscapes

This body of work explores the disparity and juxtaposition of grassroots and elite football.

The plain football fields with rusting goal posts are those that are played with the no other motive other than the love of football.

Compare that to the elite level of football, where clubs are now multi-national coporations and businesses is and the objective is to make money, for some footballers and clubs alike. How far has football come from grassroots? And has it been to it's benefit?

Clubs like Manchester United may make millions of pounds worth of profit, but still find themselves hundred of millions of pounds in debt.

Also does being a business encourage the grassroots of football? Has the meaning of 'the love of the game' been lost with the multi-million pound 'superstars' playing the game today?
